Jef and Marica are confronted by the differences in their thoughts and in their vision of the world. The duo seems unable to find common ground. They are too different to be on the same wavelength, yet too connected to ignore each other.

Between them stands a cyr wheel that is both a dividing line and a meeting point. It becomes a place of exchange and transformation. Trough the cyr wheel, they learn to communicate, fall and get back up. Their bodies speak a language without words and create an intense physical dialogue, full of poetry and energy, in which their differences become the engine of their creativity.

What does it mean to be two without merging? Can we coexist without compromise, without fusion, without hierarchy? In Difference does not provide an answer, it performs it.

About the company

Marica and Jef met in 2018 and quickly discovered they shared a fascination for research with the cyr wheel. They each developed their own practice and were inspired by their diversity and complementary ways of thinking, moving and their cultural backgrounds. Over the years, they felt connected by the same passion, which led them to explore two very different sides of the same discipline.

In 2022, they reunited with the desire to develop a project centred on their research into the cyr wheel. This resulted in In Difference, their first performance as co-authors, a work that showcases their shared passion, unique dynamic and creative energy.

It is no suprise that Knack magazine named the performance one of the best of 2025.
